Our official photographer duties have already begun, covering the kick-off reception and unveiling of the 2010 commemorative Bluewater Babes Fish for a Cure Fishing Tournament print at the Lighthouse Center for the Arts in Tequesta on July 22nd.   The reception was a huge success, already raising $7,500 for the two cancer-related charities.

Island Images Selects Miss Photogenic for 2010 Miss Hibiscus Pageant

The Miss Hibiscus Pageant was held Friday evening, April 16th at the Heritage Center in Downtown Vero Beach. This annual event is held as part of the festivities for the Hibiscus Festival held in Downtown Vero Beach. This year, 22 young women, ages 16 to 21, competed for cash and prizes and the title of Miss Hibiscus, as well as Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality. According to the Miss Hibiscus Pageant Committee Chairwoman and former Miss Hibiscus, Elizabeth Graves-Bass, the number of contestants participating in this year’s pageant was the largest in the history of the pageant.

Miss Photogenic Alex Bradshaw

As sponsor of the Miss Photogenic portion of the pageant, we were privileged to photograph the contestants during the week prior to the pageant. From these photographs, we had the difficult task of choosing the most photogenic. After careful deliberation, Alex Bradshaw, a 17 year old Vero Beach High School and Indian River State College student was selected as Miss Photogenic for the 2010 Miss Hibiscus Pageant. Alex received a gift certificate for a fashion photography session, prints, and digital images valued at $600.00.
